The first design consultation is free of charge. For consultations that are a considerable distance from either our Nantwich or Southport showrooms, we ask that our travel expenses are covered. However this would be agreed with Oliver Steer Interior Design prior to confirmation of the meeting.
Following this initial consultation a basic quotation for design services will be prepared based on your brief, this will be sent to you for approval prior to any design work commencing in our studio.
On acceptance of our proposal for design services we will arrange a second consultation to finalise your requirements. 25% of the agreed design fee must be paid before design work commences. The balance of the design fee will be charged in equal amounts on a bi-monthly basis throughout the duration of the design process which may include drawings, sample boards, 3D imagery, product samples such as, paint, fabric, tiles etc.. Final concept designs and samples remain the property of Oliver Steer Interior Design Limited until the balance payment has been received in full.
Any amendments or additions to the scope of work of the design brief or design concept will be charged at £65* per hour.
An alternative method of paying for the interior design services described above is on an hourly rate basis of £65* per hour. All interior design, consultancy, research, visits to specialist suppliers, studio time, collection and deliveries will be charged in this way and recorded in time sheets. The fees are billed fortnightly in arrears.
We will charge a deposit of £1,500* for this method of working which is redeemable against work carried out.
To obtain estimates from and to attend site visits with contractors, specialist designers or suppliers i.e. kitchen designers, curtain makers, upholsterers and charged at £45* per hour.
For individual contracts where the total quoted fee is less than or equates to £9,500* all furniture, fixings and materials will be charged at the recommended retail price less a 10% discount.
For individual contracts where the total quoted fee is greater than £9,500* all furniture, fixings and materials will be charged at the trade price plus a 20% arrangement fee.
50% of the supply fee and total cost of all goods must be paid prior to orders being placed as a deposit. The balance of 50% must be paid prior to delivery.
Any bespoke items, including the relevant supply fee, must be paid for 100% in advance as these are not returnable to suppliers.
By their very nature, project coordination services for new build and substantial refurbishment / extensions are complex and detailed. We have vast experience of such projects and we prefer to work with our clients to understand their requirements and then agree a bespoke proposition according to individual needs either through a set handling percentage or on an hourly basis.
Any amendments to the agreed design, labour or materials requested by you after work has started must be paid in full upon instruction.
The balance of all outstanding fees, furniture, fixings and materials is due upon completion. Any outstanding payments will incur interest of 6% above Bank of England base rate per month.
